Octaves’ “Greener Pastures” on vinyl!

As we announced earlier this year, We’ll be releasing OctavesGreener Pastures on vinyl on February 26, 2013! It’s up for pre-order now if you’d like to pick up a copy. If you’re an interested but otherwise unconvinced and responsible purchaser of vinyl recordings, please read on:

Originally released on CD and digitally by Hotfoot Records in 2010, the vinyl version of Greener Pastures features all-new artwork from our buddy August Schwartz (he does all the Pianos Become the Teeth artwork and has really chiseled abs, you guys). The Baltimore noise mongers have been compared to such bands as Dillinger Escape Plan and The Bled. As you’ll see below, they’re really good at sports and Limp Bizkit:

In its review of Greener Pastures, Alterthepress.com described it as — and I quote:

“…technical and dissonant, yet surprisingly melodic hardcore that impacts like a fist-fight but has impressive depth beyond its initial immediacy.”

Which is kinda how I feel about it as well.

Head over to Guitar World now to grab a free download of the track “Fix the Fernback”. You can also now pre-order the record on the Topshelf store.
