I should preface this with: Please don’t even bother applying if you can’t be in Boston, MA or Peabody, MA — reliably & regularly — for the duration of this fall.

We’re looking for three new interns this fall to help with three specific areas for us. Past experience is a plus but not necessary. We’re flexible on the duration of each of these positions as well.

• Position 1: Get your hands dirty and learn the ropes. We need help with mail order, assembling records, assistance with day-to-day (both physically and online); help with answering customer emails, inventorying, etc. You’d work closely with Myself, Seth, our bands and our main dude and mail order king, John at our Peabody, MA warehouse.

• Position 2: Please read this one thoroughly as I’m looking for a very specific set of criteria here. Be in the Boston area. Own a nice camera. No, your iPhone is not a nice camera. Own a nice camera that shoots video in HD and takes great looking pictures. Have an understanding of what “good type” means.

  If you have that stuff, then it’d be great if you also had a portfolio that showcased what you’ve done with it all. You’d be working with myself and Seth in overseeing and curating content for our Youtube and Vimeo accounts that will be seen by tens of thousands of people so experience with basic video editing is a must. Our buddy Zac (who plays in Cerce) worked with us this summer at this position and is staying on for the fall. Because of his class schedule though, we need some help from someone who can come out on various locations and on the road occasionally to events like CMJ and Fest with us / our bands. This position requires that you be able to physically be at our Boylston street office (Fenway / Back Bay neighborhood, Boston) at least once a week and/or on location for various events.

• Position 3: You have at least an entry-level working knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and basic design and typography fundamentals. Primary tasks for the position will include working closely with myself and our bands in creation of banner ads and adverts for both print and web, assisting with the creation of other promotional collateral, creating merch designs, posters and hanging the fuck out at our Boylston street office (Fenway / Back Bay neighborhood, Boston) 1-3 days a week.

  

  Mega bonus points and skip-to-the-front-of-the-line status if you know any of the following (but it’s totally cool if you don’t): HTML / CSS / jQuery / Javascript / PHP (and if you do, please specify what and provide examples of work — we’re really looking for help with site maintenance!). We are able to work with colleges and universities to get you college credit for internships, although college credit isn’t required for any of the positions.

We don’t run too tight a ship and have a lot of fun doing what we do — but we expect results. Our end goal is to have some help with our growing list of day-to-day tasks but also to give some insight into how an indie label operates and hopefully to learn you a thing or two. All internship positions qualify you for free Pavement Coffee, occasional burritos and all the afternoon rooftop hangs you can handle. I guess you can have some records and stuff too.
